i ran across this article on some other bike blog and thought i would write a few words about it. it has been said that although the regular apparel industry has seen a dive in growth (due to the recession), cycling retailers have seen growth (due to that stint of high gasoline prices last year and increase in sustainability popularity). although I believe that the growth discussed in this article and other articles mainly circulates around bicycle sales, it would be a fair assumption to say that all things bicycle related (that are needed and useful) have also grown. clearly this is good news for pedaler clothing since we are entering a growing market and our garments are way better versions of regular wearable clothing and can therefore be considered “needed and useful” (well at least useful). *all interested investors please see the contact page for our email address*

Being big fans of both Fat Cyclist , BSNYC and cycling in general I willingly submitted my cc info to enter the “Fight Cancer, meet Bike Snob NYC” contest. I know it’s for a good cause but I didn’t write about it earlier because I didn’t want Pedalers many readers competing with me. Doesn’t matter anyways, contest’s over… and we lost!
Not sure what I would of done if we had won, it seems smarter to enjoy BSNYC from a distance… a safe anonymous distance. Best of luck to the winner!

this is chris, pedaler clothing’s fit and catalog model. i was at chris’s future wife’s bridal shower (did you get that?) and chris cruised up on his pretty sky grey custom fixie. he rode from costa mesa to laguna a short 13 miles of intense coastal hills. anyway… when i saw him, i just wished he was wearing pedaler clothing. i know his ride would have been better and he would still be wearing what he likes wearing… here’s a pic of chris, just look at the face of the groom to be! ha!

Yesterday I was out enjoying what felt like the first nice day of the season. I wish I could say I was on my bike but my girlfriend doesn’t ride (WTF!?) so we compromised by taking the subway. We were a bit tipsy and on our way home when I spotted this guy making these awesome mini bikes at the canal street train. For only 1$ you can have one custom built for you. All proceeds go towards finding a cure for diabetes… or more likely into this guys pocket! But who cares!? We’re in an economic crisis after all. By buying this bike I may have bought this guy 1/6th of a sandwich, or 1/2 a nip of Jim Beam…. and I didn’t feel so guilty about not being on my bike on the first nice day of the season. Everybody wins!

M(ountain)UNI(unicyclist), oh so clever… clearly i’m intrigued and have been thinking about researching the F out of this all day. through reading various things, people seems to know about these MUNI’s (forgive my ignorance). But I am still interested and maybe you are too. So… here’s a remotely recent article in the NYT as well as a youtube video. i think i’m gonna try this, but i should probably figure out how to ride a plain ole unicycle on a plain ole street first.

i was on a hike in casper’s wilderness park, an 8,000 acre protected wilderness preserve in the western coastal Santa Ana Mountains (known as the ortegas). most every trail indicates that there is no mountain biking to be had, but i of course haven’t been on all the trails. its unbelievably beautiful there, with small winding trails and native coastal oaks trees. i highly suggest taking a hike or sneaking a bike if you can (although this can be complicated since there are many horses on the trails and usually, horses and bikes don’t mix) . anyway, towards the end of my hike, a mysterious shape emerged from the road and i couldn’t figure out what the hell it was. as he approached it became clearer… the dude was a unicyclist mountain biker. now, i already have loads of respect for mountain bikers in general, since that shit is both physically demanding and risky. i’m personally in fear of the idea of destroying my face on dirt and rocks, among other things. i have the upmost respect for these cyclist. but being a unicyclist mountain biker takes it to the next level. i was in awe and had to ask for a picture.

did you know that in order to attract new people to your blog based off of word searches, it is important to include a few key words, occasionally… not too much not too little just right… my uncle and key word enthusiast “uncle carlos call me andrew” said i need to use the following words/phrases in one of my postings. bike(s), bicycle(s), bike ride(ing)(s), cannondale(s), cycling, cycling apparel, and mongoose(s). easy enough, lets give this a whirl… to preface my key word rating fictional paragraph |below|, i want to say three things. first, virginia and i will be officially begin writing continuous blog updates (real ones) in the next two weeks. two, this key word exercise is more of an experiment to see if the blog powers that be, really know what the f their talking about. lastly, (if this works) i’m sorry that your key word search led you to this blog. i’m sure you didn’t anticipate coming to a cycling apparel (look i did it before i started writing my paragraph) website but… since you are here… take a look around! maybe you will like what you read.
|Fictional paragraph begin|
boy do i love bicycles. i ride my bike almost everyday. yes, yes i know, i should ride my bike everyday but i live the hills and my legs aren’t as strong as some of you strapping cyclists. i need to seek out some bike rides and go on them weekly so i can get big and strong and not use my weak leg excuse anymore. i know a few bike ride sites, i guess i should check them out. perhaps if i had a cannondale, a real fancy one, it would make it easier for me to handle these hills. I suppose my single gear vintage redo is too heavy. my friend bob said i should get a mongoose bike but thats just because he has three mongooses and he’s clearly biased. i’d rather have three cannondales because that would make me look fancy and rich and thats what i really want out of life.
